I am two months away from what is supposed to be the start of my Digital Nomad journey. I am at the place where I have to either renew or not renew my lease.
Catch 22: I am feeling last minute jitters cold feet. I made the decision 6/7 months ago to go on a year long journey of traveling the world and now that it’s so close it’s super daunting. Any words of advice? Words of encouragement? How did you feel before were you also getting cold feet? Do you regret taking the leap?

Update: I am overwhelmed with gratefulness for all the people that have taken the time to comment on this post. You guys have made me realize that the fear was all kind of in my head. The things that I nervous about our minuscule compared to the things that I will regret if I don’t do it. So therefore, I have decided not to renew my lease and continue with the plan! Thank you for entertaining me LOL. 💕💕💕

The hardest part is always to starting. I've been a nomad three times for an extended period of time... Each time I got  jitters right and they disappeared as soon as I got on the road. You've got this and it will be one of the best years of your life

In 2009 I sold everything I owned, house, belongings ( I was 43 at the time)  and got my life down to a 20kg suitcase and embarked on the best journey of my life. 11 years later I ended up coming back to the UK with nothing as the first lockdown in North Africa had taken the last of my savings. I've just found another job and got back on the rental market.until I can save enough to do it all over again. Never regret anything!! Have faith that when you follow your dreams you are looked after!! FEAR- Feeling Excited And Ready 💖🙏

What’s causing you the jitters? You have to ask yourself. If it’s simply fear of the unknown, then that will subside once you start your journey. If it’s fear that you won’t be able to support yourself or have enough of a safety net, that’s different. But there’s never been a better time to go remote and never more opportunities than there are now as a digital nomad. You won’t regret it. Just make sure you go to each place with a purpose in mind. Keep a routine for yourself. And don’t use this lifestyle as a way to run away from your problems because you never will. What I mean is don’t use it as a never-ending dopamine rush. Do use it as a way to learn about yourself and others. Just some words of advice from a 10-year digital nomad veteran.

It will be an absolute whirlwind — likely filled with a ton of intense ups and downs. But you know what the greater regret will be? Not taking the plunge to do it! You’ve got this, and you will cherish each and every moment ♥️…and if you don’t? Home is always home!

I did the same! Ended my lease and sold everything! I leave today for Peru for a year 😊 i was nervous about it until i put my 2 weeks in at work and after that i just felt relieved!! People that don’t understand will try and make you nervous, especially right before but don’t entertain it. The only thing I’m nervous for is the 9 hour flight. You got this!
