I want to start investing in stocks and crypto currency but I have NO CLUE about either. What’s a good book that I can read to just get used to the language and how the whole thing works? I want to understand it first before I do any investing.

I am now a digital nomad trading crypto full time. I'd say 95% of people out there have zero clue. Half of them think crypto is a pure scam and say don't touch it. The other half say go buy everything and you will make  10x on your investment!My view, having spent 12 years in banking and now being involved in crypto since Jan 2021 is that the truth is in between. Most of the the stuff of the Internet it's complete crap. Most of the twitter stuff is complete crap. If you see a coin being hyped or has pumped 40% it's already too late, stay away. I would suggest you immerse yourself initially with a lot of content from the following youtubers - Benjamin Cohen, Coin Bureau and Tyler S for a bit more lighthearted look at it. Ignore all the emergency videos that you see out there. Go watch some videos and start to get a feel for it. Initially I would say invest in a selection of the top 20 crypto as listed on coinmarketcap.com and only then after spending some time watching some content first. Anybody who hypes shib, doge or safe moon should be ignored. Those coins are utter crap and subject to nonsense.sure there are some people who might do well out of them but it's the same as gambling, if you want to do that go ahead but if you are serious about learning and investing in this space then ignore it. Right now my biggest holdings are bitcoin, ethereum, dot, link, ftt, ftm, luna and cardano. I really don't care about what other people think anymore, I've seen enough stuff on the net to realise that most people don't have a clue. I have bought what I'm comfortable with and what I think has a good chance of doing well over the longer term. I have a few other positions in more high risk trades where I have maybe $200 to 300 in the hope they might 5x but if they go down 50% I don't mind.Most of the mainstream news is way behind the curve so you will constantly see articles saying why it's a ponzi scheme or bubble etc. These articles have been going for 5 years and will continue to happen I'm sure. Try to keep an open mind, try to learn, don't take silly risks with your money and you can do well.My suggestion is that at least initially invest only 10 to 20% of what you might in regular investments. So if yoh have 10k available across all your investable cash, only invest maybe 1 to 2k in crypto. Its a learning process so as you learn you will start to see how to rotate your investments and if you are ready to invest more. Good luck, stay humble, be willing to learn and you will do well

The intelligent Investor! A good one to motivate you and improve your way of thinking about finances is Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Every person should read that one! YouTube videos were also very helpful for me to understand different terms and how-to's. (Just don't get sucked into any scams and be careful of people giving advice to buy specific stocks lol) Investing with Rose is a good channel with how-to's. She's American. I'm Canadian so I also like Brandon Beavis.I'm a long-term investor with mostly index fund ETFs. I have about 10% in Ethereum and Bitcoin and about 15-20% in single stocks which are companies that I believe in, solid boring companies (like banks, utilities, etc), and REITs
