I know there are digital nomads who have made it: very successful making millions, having a team of people working for them, maybe owning a couple of Lambos as well.
But are there any digital nomads here who are just doing ok, can pay the bills but nothing to write home about? When you see your uni friends or friends back home who had a regular job and stayed in the regular job market but now have climbed the corporate ladder, promoted to high positions of big firms, do you feel something?

I earn less than most my friends back home and I feel sad for them having to deal with long commutes and sitting in an office all day, tied to one location bc of their job. I wouldn’t trade what I have for feeling trapped no matter how much they paid me. Plus I eat better bc I have more time to cook. I’m never rushed either. I’m more relaxed and therefore happier 😃

i'd say im doing okay, saving a decent amount but probably not as much as i'd like. i think i'd prefer a salaried remote job with benefits vs. being a freelancer, but at the same time i'd hate having to "work" or be "on call" between certain hours of the day, the flexibility with being a freelancer is immense. being able to take a 3-hour lunch or the afternoon off whenever i feel like it is the best. i don't feel envious of people climbing up the corporate ladder in their fancy offices, that life made me depressed.

I think most digital nomads fall into the “doing ok” camp. But the difference is, our lifestyle allows us to have more work-life balance, in my opinion.
