Ireland.They are peace keepers first. And each neighborhood has a police station which employs officers that live in that neighborhood.

Cambodia. I don't think they are always friendly and I know can be very corrupt(but least they never shoot people). However in my experience, when speaking Khmer to them, it's very easy to joke around with them and talk around any issues. One example, I ran a red light once and was stopped to pay a fine. It was my mistake so no problem, I talked and joked a bit and handed over the fine (5000 riel/about 1 euro). When I did he saw my hand was wrapped up in a bandage(recent sport injury) and he said "chhu?"(pain)"Bat pu, Tik tik" (yes uncle, little bit)And then he waves away the fine, refused to take it and told me to go home and rest 😂So sweet. I came back the next day with ice coffee for all of them 🙂As with everything in life, the outcome can often be how we approach it and how open we are in our tone and body language. Also German police were super nice and helpful when I was there.
