I'm concerned that there will be language barriers when I travel, so from your experiences is English spoken everywhere and if not what countries do they not speak it and there will be a language barrier?

You be surprised how far general polite demeanor and a few words in the local language (thank you, please, good morning, etc) will get you.  Currently in Cancun (not the tourist area) and most people are helpful even when they don't understand me.  For example, in the restaurants I point to the item I want, say please and they simile and give me the item.  And I usually start with a sheepish smile and say No hablo espanol (in a polite manner, not rudely), and people get what I am asking for, smile understandably and help me.  It really is that simple.

English is definitely not spoken everywhere and if you are traveling you need to go into it expecting some language barriers. Make an effort to learn basic phrases in the language of the country you’re visiting and be polite and you’ll be fine.

Learn some basic phrases. Start with hello and thank you. Learning languages and different ways of communicating is one of the joys of travel. Also, it isn't hard, you just have to be brave and try.
