"magic words", really? 🙄 This right there is why I don't refer to myself as a DN, too cringey. If you're based somewhere for a while, that's where you "live", no need to elaborate. If you're on the move, just say you're traveling. I only elaborate when people say "oh you're on vacation". "No, I work as i travel. So I'm always on vacation and never on vacation". That's my stock answer.

Don’t think I’ve used the term digital nomad in a serious way ever, find it a bit cringe. It’s like MLM people calling themselves entrepreneurs, I’ve seen enough “digital nomads” living entirely off savings to not love the term haha.I just say “I own my own business, so I just work remotely”

In my opinion DN is mostly used by people who have been working remotely and traveling full time for not so long. It sounds pretentious and reductionist to what you are… I am a ____ ( your profession) who works remotely and gets to live anywhere in the world

I don't... Say that... When someone asks me where I live I usually answer "currently ___". Answering "all around the world" is kinda... Pretentious in a way to me? I don't live all around the world, I live currently in X. In a month I'll live in Y.
