Living in the Philippines now. Out of curiosity, what other countries can you live comfortably with $1000 monthly?

$1000 in Morocco will have you living like a king. I rented a furnished two bedroom two bathroom apartment with two balconies and a big complex pool only one block from the beach for 500 euro per month. A meal on average costs 30 cents-4 euro. Taxis are maybe 25 cents sometimes higher in touristy areas. If you speak English some shopkeepers and taxi drivers will charge more, learning some French Arabic or Darija will help a lot. I lived part time in Morocco for over a year and if it weren’t for the pandemic I’d still be there. I felt extremely safe, people watch out for one another and if there’s a problem people will step in to help. I ended up getting stuck once and my credit cards stopped working and had no cash so a Moroccan at the hostel I was at said I could stay with their family, they basically adopted me and I’m closer to them than some of my own blood. They gave me a bed, clothes, food, and wouldn’t accept any money in return. The same family let an orphaned high school student live with them for two years because she had no money and they wanted to make sure she finished school. If there’s an elderly person walking carrying bags, people will offer to carry them to wherever they’re going. I was in Casablanca once and a very pregnant woman was waving trying to get a taxi. She was standing at an angle so the taxi drivers couldn’t see her stomach, and multiple taxis zoomed by. Within 5 seconds of her standing so the taxi drivers could see her stomach, one literally slammed on their breaks and screeched to stop and pick her up. Saw a young man on a moto get hit by a careless truck and people sprinted to help, instead of standing there recording him on their phones people were helping to move him and were giving him water. It took 20 min for the ambulance to come and these people wouldn’t leave his side. People always give food to the homeless too, one time I was at a cafe eating and a homeless guy asked a man for some food. Instead of giving the homeless man food, he invited him to sit and they shared a meal and talked the whole time like they were old friends. My friend and I were running to his house to break fast during Ramadan and some random guy yelled from across the street that we don’t have to rush and we can eat with his family. If someone sitting next to you opens up food and sees that you don’t have anything, they will offer you some just because. I can think of soo many stories!

Poland. Big city - room starts from 150$, apartments more than 30m2 starts from 400$. Small city - rooms from 100$, apartments from 250$.Food - bread 0,50$, chickien 2-4$/kg, pizza 60cm in restaurant 10$, kebab 3$, hot dog 1,5$, zapiekanka 1,5$, dinner in restaurant 4$, cheese 4$/kg, beer 0,50-1$ (in restaurant 1,5$), sausages 4-5$/kg, apples 0,50$/kg, 1 egg 0,09$ :D it depends what you eat. :) there is a lot of vegan food in a store.And you have very good internet in a whole country.
