PayPal is not the best service for digital nomads.
Especially for some of us who charge in dollars but need other currencies, at least some of the times. PayPal fees are high.
Plus there is the generally poor customer support.
Stripe is much better, but the general word in the digital street is that PayPal is still the biggest payment player, and you can't sell digital goods without PayPal.
So I'm wondering: has anyone successfully found a payment alternative, without losing business?

The problem is in customer trust. Customer trust to Pay Pal, so if you choose some other solution, you will loose some percent of customers. I have PayPal and Stripe, and tested sales without PayPal (Stripe only). Conversion rate was much lower than with both solutions on board. So you decide- higher sales with PayPal or lower with other solutions. Sad but true...

I accept both Paypal and Stripe payments. I made Paypal 5% more expensive for clients, that is the price difference between Paypal and Stripe for me. It helps, most people now pay with Stripe.

I get paid across the world into Transferwise. At the best rate. 100 x better than PayPal.

I haven't found an alternative but I'm sick of PayPal for years!I have an account since 1998 or 1999 and in those days moved thousands of dollars each year through the account. At one stage I had my account in 3 currencies: US$, Euros, AUD. And then eBay bought them. ↘️Very quickly the service deteriorated, fees went up, my Euro balance was closed (without notice) and converted into AUD at a dismal exchange rate! 🤬 Ever since I only use them when I really really can't avoid. Last year: under $35 went through PayPal. I even don't pay eBay purchases through them if I can avoid, their buyer's protection isn't worth it.
