Can anyone recommend an inexpensive European country to live in. Making money but just getting started.

If your only requirement is cheap, then anywhere in Eastern Europe is a good bet. Romania/Slovakia/Bulgaria if you want mountains. Croatia if you want seaside

Here is a list of cheap countries in Europe: Bulgaria, Georgia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia and I think we can add Portugal to the list. Depending on your budget and requirements, I would look closer at Belgrade, Budapest, Vilnius, Riga, Tbilisi, Krakow, Gdansk, Lisboa. All big cities. Smaller are usually cheaper, like Novi Zad, Kaunas, Liepaja, Klaipeda, Brno, Nazare, Kutaisi, Bansko. That's a big list, but angood start 🙂 Nomadlist is another resource to check out 👍

Spain in my view is the most affordable country that offers very modern living standards (super fast and cheap internet, great hospitals, very good road infrastructure, blablacar rides, good bus/train service, very high safety in most cities, modern mindset in most people unless it's about romance maybe etc). Also the climate is one of the best in Europe in winter in the south, rents are affordable in cities like Valencia, Alicante, Cartagena (and better in non coastal towns or villages). Cost of living (Besides rent) in my opinion is the lowest in Europe if you care about eating healthy and tasty, with extremely affordable supermarkets, cheap restaurants. People are very Foreigner friendly especially if you talk a bit of spanish! Madrid and Barcelona are expensive and offer a very diffent lifestyle that is not necessarily similar to what I describe. The north is colder but generally affordable, the Canary islands are amazing for surf and year round amazing weather but are more expensive unless you go somewhat remote, and transportation is not great without a car. EDIT: Taxes not great, so best do your business through an other country, international insurance etc.

Serbia, Belgrade if you are into a bigger city vibes, but Novi Sad can be very good if you like calm life. Both are safe, great food and amazing internet. Everybody speaks English
