I travelled across 21 countries in Africa by bicycle. Some countries twice, 3 or 4 times there. I spent 3 and half year of my life there. Cheap: all of them about food and going out, the cheapest accommodation in Ethiopia then Uganda and then Zambia about one room no sharing. The friendliest I would say all of African people in general there depends on the village, family and city or country the friendliness is higher. The most honest and good personal non profit hospitality for me was Sudan and the least Burundi and Ethiopia (in rural areas but the cities were fine) and Mauritania between. Very friendly people in Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland, Zululand (Kwazulu-Natal) in South Africa, Rwanda (in the west less), Senegal in the south (Casamance) Burundi in general was not safe and dangerous like Ethiopa in rural areas, Egypt and Morocco can be very dangerous in some areas ( I can write where), Botswana a lot of violent robberies but the capital should be fine. About the quality of life depends what you need you need more money for your comfort but the good people and their hospitality is the most important there. Cape verde. Sal island. Sao vicente or santiago islands. I have been living here (sal)  for 4 years now. Digital nomad visa approved this year. Good internet connection , ideal for water sports (kyte, surf and wind surf specially). Really safe. People are super friendly (check morabezza of cabo verde feeling :-)). Many women travel here alone ( including me ) and in sal many people sprak different languages (english italian french spanish and of course portuguese)
